Hi. We’re the Nielsen’s!
I am Christine, my husband Rene and our three children, Julia, Will and Clay.
We reside on my multi-generational family farm. I am so blessed to be able to start this where I grew up. My parents now run the farm, and my brother and his family also farm with them.
My parents have been gracious enough to share the land with us. They have helped make this dream a reality with their love and support. I am so fortunate that my children have the privilege of growing up in the same yard as their grandparents, just as I did. My grandparents inspired my love for gardening, flowers, and all the beauty nature can show.
My husband, Rene, came to Canada from Denmark. We met while we worked for a farm/feedlot in the Cheadle area, where he farms today. Rene is a massive part of our farm. While working a full-time farming job, he also does the larger share of feeding, cleaning and caring for our chickens and pigs. In addition, he is our handyman, keeping this farm running smoothly, and is the backbone of this business.
While his family is back in Denmark, we are fortunate that his parents and sister can come over regularly. They are a massive support to our business. They help tend gardens, care for the animals, and make incredible meals while spending quality time with our children. Teaching our children Danish traditions, to speak Danish and the meaning of ‘Hygge’.
Together, we enjoy being outside, taking care of the animals, and getting our hands dirty in the garden. We are excited to share this joy that farming has brought to our family, from freshly picked eggs daily to greenhouse plants and a variety of fresh blooms picked just for you.
